How to Unlock Notion Business 3 Month 100% FREE ( No Credit Card)
If you are using Notion for your startup, project, or small online business, you probably know one thing:
Notion is really useful.
But the paid plan?
Yeah, not everyone wants to pay for it right away.
Especially when you are just starting out.
Maybe you are building a small website.
Maybe you are testing a startup idea.
Maybe you are managing content, tasks, notes, CRM, or client work inside Notion.
And then you see Notion Business.
It looks good.
You get more team features, better workspace controls, and Notion AI is included too.
But before paying, you probably want to know:
“Can I try Notion Business for free first?”
The answer is yes.
There is an official program called Notion for Startups, and eligible startups can get free access to Notion Business for a limited time.
Some startups can get 6 months free.
Some can get 3 months free.
Some may only get 1 month free.
In my case, I applied for the Notion for Startups program.
But honestly, I did not get approved.
Notion replied that they were unable to validate my application.
At first, I thought, “Okay, maybe that’s it.”
But then I checked my Notion billing page.
And somehow, my workspace still had a Business Trial available.
The trial gave me around 3 months to use Notion Business.
So in this guide, I will show you exactly what I did, what Notion asked for, why my application was not approved, and where I found the 3-month Business Trial inside Notion.
No hype.
Just a simple walkthrough.
What Is Notion for Startups?
Notion for Startups is an official program from Notion for early-stage companies.
The idea is simple.
If your startup is eligible, Notion may give you free access to the Notion Business Plan, including Notion AI, for a limited time.
According to Notion, the offer depends on your company type and eligibility:
Partner-affiliated startups may get 6 months free
Non-partner startups may get 3 months free
Smaller businesses or service-based businesses may get 1 month free
So if you are not connected with a Notion partner, the offer you probably care about is the 3-month free Notion Business Plan.
But there is one thing you should know.
Not everyone will get approved.
Notion will check your startup information before giving you the offer.
That is why you need to prepare a few things before applying.
Step 1: Check If Your Startup Is Eligible
Before you apply, do not just rush into the form.
Check if your business actually looks like what Notion wants.
From Notion’s official page, the startup offer is mainly for early-stage technology companies.
That means your startup should look like a real company that is building something scalable.
For example:
A SaaS product
A software tool
A tech platform
A marketplace
A product-based startup
A company building a clear tech-related product or service
If you are running an agency, consulting service, freelancer business, or very small service-based business, you may still be able to apply.
But there is a chance you will only receive 1 month instead of 3 months.
Notion also asks for some basic things.
You should have:
A valid company email
A working company website
A clear product or service offering
Fewer than 100 employees
Some proof that your business is real
This is where many people get stuck.
They apply with a random Gmail.
Their website is not clear.
Their company description is too vague.
Or Notion cannot verify the business.
Then the application gets denied.
So before applying, ask yourself:
If someone opens my website, can they understand what I am building in 10 seconds?
If the answer is no, fix that first.
Step 2: Prepare Your Company Email and Website
This part sounds small, but it matters a lot.
When I applied, I used my own domain email:

This looks more serious than using a normal Gmail address.
For example, this looks personal:
yourname@gmail.com
But this looks more like a real project or company:
hello@yourdomain.com
founder@yourdomain.com

If you already own a domain, I recommend creating an email with that domain before applying.
It does not need to be fancy.
Just make it look real.
Your website is also important.
Notion wants to see a working company website. Not a broken page. Not an empty landing page. Not just a parked domain.
Your website should explain:
What your product is
Who it is for
What problem it solves
Your company or brand name
Some contact information
It does not need to be perfect.
A simple landing page is enough.
But it should not make Notion think, “We cannot verify this company.”
Here is a simple example of a good startup description:
We are building a SaaS tool that helps small online businesses manage content planning, customer notes, and internal workflows in one dashboard.
This is clear.
But this is too vague:
We help people grow with technology.
That sounds nice, but it does not explain anything.
So keep your description simple and specific.
Step 3: Apply Through the Official Notion for Startups Page
After you prepare your information, go to the official Notion page:
Find the application link and fill out the form.
When filling the form, use the same information everywhere.
Use your company email.
Use your real website.
Use your correct company name.
Write a clear startup description.
Do not try to make it sound too big.
Just make it easy to understand.
After submitting the form, Notion says it may take around 3 to 5 business days to review your application.
If they approve you, they will email you and apply the free Business Plan to your workspace.
But here is what happened to me.
My Result After Applying
I applied for the Notion for Startups program.
But Notion replied that they were unable to validate my application.
In the email, they said eligible startups should usually be early-stage technology companies with fewer than 100 employees.
They also mentioned that the application should include verifiable matching information, such as:
A valid company email address
A working company website
Clear product or service information
Funding information, LinkedIn profile, or accelerator participation details
So basically, I did not get approved for the official Notion for Startups offer.
But then I checked my Notion billing page.
And I saw something interesting.
My workspace had a Business Trial available.
It showed that I could use the Business Trial for around 3 months.
So even though my startup application was denied, I still got access to a 3-month Notion Business Trial inside my workspace.
That is why I recommend checking your billing page too.
Go to:
Settings → Billing
Then look for the trial section.
If your workspace has a Business Trial available, you may be able to start using Notion Business even if your startup application was not approved.
Why You Might Not Get Approved
Notion may deny your application if they cannot verify your startup.
This can happen if:
Your website is not working
Your website does not explain your business clearly
You apply with a personal email
Your company looks like a solo project
You do not have enough business information online
Your business looks more like an agency or service business
You do not provide LinkedIn, funding, or accelerator details
This does not always mean your project is bad.
It just means Notion could not verify it based on the information you gave them.
So if you want to apply again, prepare better proof.
Add a clearer website.
Use a company email.
Create a company LinkedIn page.
Explain your product better.
Add more information about your business.
Small things like that can help.
Final Thoughts
So here is the real answer.
If you want to get 3 months of Notion Business for free, there are two things you can try.
First, apply through the official Notion for Startups program.
Second, check your Notion billing page to see if a Business Trial is already available.
In my case, the startup application was not approved.
But I still found a 3-month Business Trial inside my workspace.
So do not stop after one email.
Check your workspace.
Check billing.
And if you want to apply again, make your website, company email, and startup information clearer.
That is probably the most important part.
The process is simple:
Check if your startup is eligible
Prepare your company email and website
Apply through the official Notion form and check your billing page
That is it.
No trick.
No complicated method.
Just apply properly, and check what Notion gives you inside your workspace.
